What is the Definition of Motivation?
Definition of Motivation: You can’t just follow the fixed definition of obscure words without understanding the concept.

What is the Definition of Motivation Motivation is universal

but the definition corresponding with the name differs for each one of us. If I try to give you the definition it would be unjust because motivation is a complex subject. Why do people behave in a certain way?

The basic underlying question is why do people do what they do?

An individual’s performance is a product of ability level and motivation. If you want to improve the performance of your people, pay attention to the level of motivation of your team members.

People’s behavior is determined by what motivates them

It is a very personal thing, influenced by many driving forces, individual needs that make individuals motivated. As a leader you must understand the nature of human behavior and how best to motivate staff so that they work effectively.

Remember, motivation-

1. Is a unique phenomenon

2. Is intentional and results in behavior that comes from conscious choices.

What are the components of motivation that have an impact on performance?

Direction of Behavior: What a person desires to do so.

Intensity of Behavior: How hard the individual attempts to go in that direction.

Persistence: The individual’s willingness to stay with direction in spite of obstacles.

There are a number of competing definitions of motivation and the concept of motivation has a long history in psychology.

Since it is a tad difficult to define motivation, therefore, let’s see what does motivated behavior look like:

1. The all-physical activity is preceded by mental action of some sort.

2. All behavior is goal directed.

3. Individuals seek to maximize pleasure and minimize pain or unpleasantness.

Try to make your own definition of motivation and then reflect on your sources of motivation. Do you really think it is feasible to explain motivation simply?

Make an action plan of how to increase your own and your employee’s motivation and commitment to work.
